The General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS)

Ranging from architecture, education, voice-mail telecommunications and audiovisual to space transport, water supply and to health provisions, services are seen by both developed and developing countries as a sector with an important potential for development and export that becomes more and more important in a globalised world.

The inclusion of services in the Uruguay Round of WTO trade negotiations led to the General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS). The GATS covers all services*, with few exceptions. Since January 2000, they have become the subject of multilateral trade negotiations.

Man ist sich jedoch selten über einen Punkt von grundlegender Bedeutung klar: Ob dieser Gedanke aus der Notwendigkeit stammt, sich zu verteidigen gegen den drohenden Druck außereuropäischer Mächte und Interessen, oder ob man höher zielt, ob man nach einer organischen Einheit strebt, die einen positiven Inhalt und ein eigenes Gesetz hat. Many individuals hold many questions as to what you view to be mythology within this particular dimension. I have mentioned previously in these sessions that your mythology is reality, although all of your mythology is not necessarily reality which has been inserted into this particular officially accepted reality within this dimension. Some of this mythology stems from a knowing of parallel dimensions to this particular dimension, which this knowledge is passed through generations in your particular dimension.

One in particular is your mythology concerning your ‘lost continent’ of Atlantis. This has invoked many questions with individuals throughout your ages. You continue to pursue archeological endeavors to be uncovering evidence of this so-called ‘lost civilization.’ There are other elements in conjunction with this civilization that also enter into your stories of mythology.

Atlantis is a land that you want to inhabit, appearing in your literature, your dreams, and your fantasies, serving as an impetus for development. It is real and valid. In your terms it is not "yet' physical fact, but in some ways it is more real than any physical fact, for it is a psychic blueprint.

It carries also, however, the imprint of your fears, for the tales say that Atlantis was destroyed. You place it in your past while it exists in your future. Not the destruction alone, but the entire pattern seen through the framework of your beliefs. Beside this, however, many civilizations have come and gone in somewhat the same manner, and the "myth” [of Atlantis] is based somewhat then on physical fact in your terms.

He was the builder of the Great Pyramid of Giza, erroneously attributed to Cheops. In it he incorporated his knowledge of the ancient wisdom and also securely secreted records and instruments of ancient Atlantis. For some 16,000 years, he ruled the ancient race of Egypt, from approximately 52,000 B.C. to 36,000 B.C. At that time, the ancient barbarous race among which he and his followers had settled had been raised to a high degree of civilization.

Thoth was an immortal, that is, he had conquered death, passing only when he willed and even then not through death. His vast wisdom made him ruler over the various Atlantean colonies, including the ones in South and Central America.

SOKRATES: Das soll geschehen. Der Hauptinhalt meiner gestrigen Erörterungen über den Staat war ungefähr dieser, wie und aus was für Männern sich derselbe nach meiner Meinung am besten gestalten würde.

How thankful I am, Socrates, that I have arrived at last,and, like a weary traveller after a long journey, may be at rest!And I pray the being who always was of old, and has now been by mere vealed, to grant that my words may endure in so far as they have been spoken truly and acceptably to him; but if unintentionally I havesaid anything wrong, I pray that he will impose upon me a just retribution, and the just retribution of him who errs is that he should be set right.

Wishing, then, to speak truly in future concerning the generation of the gods, I pray him to give me knowledge, which of all medicines is the most perfect and best. And now having offered my prayer I deliver up the argument to Critias, who is to speak next according to our agreement.

Critias. And I, Timaeus, accept the trust, and as you at first said that you were going to speak of high matters, and begged that some forbearance might be shown to you, I too ask the same or greater forbearance for what I am about to say. And although I very well know that my request may appear to be somewhat and discourteous, I must make it nevertheless. For will any man of sense deny that you have spoken well? I can only attempt to show that I ought to have more indulgence than you, because my theme is more difficult; and I shall argue that to seem to speak well of the gods to men is far easier than to speak well of men to men: for the inexperience and utter ignorance of his hearers about any subject is a great assistance to him who has to speak of it, and we know how ignorant we are concerning the gods.
